Retro games are called retro for a reason - they are old. You can't walk into a Walmart and buy a brand new SNES game. The only option is second hand markets. If you want something physical (and original) that is collectible (and wasn't marketed as a collectible so people didn't keep stuff in good condition)... it's going to carry a premium. This all makes a ton of sense when you think about it a little bit. The snowflake mentality is part of what this whining about prices is, to be honest: just because you want something doesn't mean you are entitled to it. It'd be great if NES/SNES games for instance cost what Atari games (mostly) cost, but that's not how it works. Those systems are infinitely more playable then nearly every (comparatively primitive) Atari game. Nintendo is also still a big mover/shaker in the industry. Their stuff WILL retain value. It also doesn't make you the ONLY person that wants the games. Supply and demand play a role. If there are only a few thousand complete copies of a game kicking around, and only a handful of people are actively selling that game, guess what? They can decide the price. You (the person on the outside looking in) ... don't dictate what something costs if you aren't the person selling it. You either pay what the rate is or you don't own it physically. There's a thousand ways to emulate nearly everything. If you want to play something that badly (and don't want to spend the $ to own it physically), that's always an option. Lastly: I think the parallels between Golden/Silver Age comic books + retro games are numerous. People may disagree, but the NES/SNES into the n64 (to me) is the gaming "Golden Age" for the home consoles era. PS1 through like the PS3/Wii is the "Silver Age" era and after that it's modern/bronze.

This game made my childhood, along with Destroy All Humans so seeing you reference that game in this video was just heart warming. Like you said, I don’t know anyone, let alone ever saw or heard of anyone talking about this game from the time I was actually playing this game when I was younger to now me being 24 years old. I had an itch last week in my brain of just old video games and this was the only one I could think about. I’m so happy that there were people like you that really enjoyed this game like I did growing up. I wish that the “corporate greed” was a myth and gaming studios actually wanted to put out video games like they used to and just get a remaster or a sequel done. I just wish that studios, if given the green light, would take the risks on games like this instead of just trying remake games that really just don’t need a remake. I know that was a lot and I could type out so much more but I loved the review and the video even though I’m 3 years late, thank you for being one of the few that enjoyed this game like I did!

5:57 i hate that as well… so much so that i bought a dualsense edge and moved the crouch and lock buttons to the additional buttons. Makes elden ring much better to play, without crouching every time things get heated.

Rewatching gx made me wonder: didn't yugi end the shadow games forever, and get rid of the millennium items? So how could the shadow games be a thing in gx? The undefeated pharaoh was able to win against his servants but if it's a shadow game (which is what the duels were back then) then his servants souls should have been taken. People can just see duel spirits but no one should really know what those are necessary kaiba wouldn't admit to anything like that being real and only 3 people at the school can see them, so why is there a celebration of duel monster spirits at the academy?

I remember reading something about it being a competition about getting your time. If every old game is available to purchase, less people would buy modern games. Why would people buy moderm games at 70+ dollars when there are lifetimes worth of old games that theoretically be sold at a bargain?

This is my go-to for incredibly under-rated PS2 game. Seen a nearby game store selling a copy of it for $130 around five years ago. Thought, "wow, there's no way that's a proper price." Looked it up online real quick. Nope, I was wrong. Glad I got it back when it was only $20. I do wish there was a New Game+ that allowed players to keep that one sword that makes getting the rare drops incredibly easy.
